Kahlown

You can keep track of what your child or your significant other is doing on the computer when you’re not there with the screen spying software application Kahlown. Hidden out of sight, Kahlown will take screenshots of what is happening on the screen, or it will record what is going on as a video file. Take a look at the screenshots, or watch the video in your media player, and thus, be on top of what your child, partner, or spouse does on the computer.

The Kahlown installation file is in a 13.3MB archive. To install Kahlown on your Windows-powered PC, download the archive, extract its contents, and then run the setup.exe file inside. A setup wizard will help you install Kahlown on your system.

The interface is fairly straightforward – there’s a lot of text, but that doesn’t mean it’s difficult to access the functionality offered by Kahlown. You can select the frame rate for the video recording, and you can select how often the application takes a screenshot. The video recording can cover the whole screen, or it can focus on a part of the screen or in the working area of the screen. The screenshots can capture the whole screen or a window, a part of the screen, the working area, the URL, or the IE browser.

Hotkeys are supported by Kahlown. You can start the screen spy monitor by hitting Ctrl + Alt + F10, you can launch the screen recorder by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F8. These are the default hotkeys; if you don’t like them, you can change them.

Please note that Kahlown is not freeware and note that the trial version of Kahlown offers limited functionality.
